About me

I am a Ph.D. student in Dr. Oliver Hawlitschek's Phylogenetic Systematics of Animals Lab at the University of Zurich. My research spans the biogeography, systematics, ecology, conservation, and invasion biology of reptiles and amphibians in the Western Indian Ocean, with a particular focus on the unique and understudied biodiversity of the Comoros archipelago. For my doctoral work, I am investigating how human-driven environmental change affects island herpetofauna in the Comoros and Mascarene archipelagos. 

Over a decade of experience in herpetological fieldwork and natural history collections has shaped my interest in integrating field surveys, museum specimens, and molecular approaches to better understand reptile and amphibian biodiversity and inform its conservation. I am also passionate about science communication and outreach, as well as fostering ethical international collaborations that support knowledge sharing, local capacity building, and research with meaningful implications for conservation.
